Lavender

Lavandula angustifolia, steam distilled flowering top, Bulgaria. Lavender is the most mild essential oil we carry. This is the best choice for children, (never henna somone under six) pregnant women, (make sure to get a doctor's OK) sesitive skin, or those bothered by strong oders.

Tea Tree

Melaleuca alternifolia, steam distilled leaf/twig, Australia. Tea Tree is one of most common oils used in henna recipes and is an excellent terp. Many people dislike the medicinal scent, so we suggest mixing it with lavender, geranium or Ylang Ylang. Tea Tree has many aromatherapy uses.

Cajeput

Melaleuca leucadendron, steam distilled, Indonesia. Cajeput is one of the best choices of essential oil for henna paste. The scent is a little like a mild eucalyptus combined with rosemary. It does it great job giving your paste added kick, and is the first choice of our artists.

Geranium

Pelargonium graveolens, steam distilled leaf, Egypt. Geranium is a strong, very sweet floral scent that is almost rose-like, but minty. It is a powerful terp, and has been used to treat an aray of women's health issues as well as oily skin, stress, depression and anxiety.

Eucalyptus

Eucalyptus globulus, steam distilled leaf, China. Eucalyptus has a strong, medicinal, earthy scent. It is one of the old standards for henna recipes. It's also known for treating Arthritis, bronchitis, cold sores, colds, coughing, fever, flu, poor circulation, and sinusitis.

Cypress

Cupressus sempervirens, steam distilled, USA. Cypress has a very mild piney scent. Its effect on henna paste is only mild, but tones down the harshness of cajeput, Eucalyptus, and Naioli very nicely. Cypress has been used to treat hemorrhoids, oily skin and vericose veins.

Niaouli

Melaleuca quinquenervia viridiflora, steam distilled leaf/twig, Spain -Organic. The scent is very simmilar to cajeput, but less harsh and maybe a little sweeter. In my opinion Niaouli is just as good of a terp as cajeput. It has also been used to treat acne, aches, and colds.

Ravensara Organic

Ravensara aromatica, organic, steam distilled leaf, Madagascar. This oil has a mild clove and eucalyptus-like scent. It’s mild on the skin and makes an excellent “terp.” It’s been used to treat respiratory ailments, aches and sore muscles, and menstrual discomforts.

Cardamom

Elettaria cardamomum, steam distilled seed, Guatemala. Spicy and sweet scent and fantastic “terp.” Used to settle gastrointestinal problems, it blends well with citrus oils, clove, thyme and pine.

Clove Bud

Eugenia caryophyllata, steam distilled bud, Madagascar. Spicy, warm, sweet scent. Used for arthritis, sprain, strains, and toothache. May releive depression and ease stomach upset. Avoid in alcoholism, in haemophilia, in prostatic cancer, with kidney and liver problems. May irritate skin in some people.
